I've been reading some more back story on what apparently is what's now called the Lyran Alliance. Their MechWarriors should either be bald or sport a bald spot. I think it has to do something with their helmet thingamajig.I also learned that some influence on the Lyran Alliance were taken from old WWII if I'm not mistaken (or I may have gleaned that from elsewhere and just mushed it all together LOL).
So here's my revised sketch of Mercaddes Ehrason. Yeah I know it's pretty much a rip off some old anime look, but hey, that's what I decided to go for. Usually MechWarriors shouldn't have much heavy clothing on when piloting BattleMechs. I used this combat armor look because it enforces Mercaddes' belief to lead by example; thus he should be ready to fight at all times, be it piloting his Mech or fighting outside it.
It's just a sketch in progress, so I'll add on to it at a later date.
Here's my first sketch of the guy. Did it all using a WACOM digipen on Adobe Photoshop CS2.

Well, looks more like someone I knew from starwars... does he also have asthma? joke! well, it looks cool... just that having heavy armor inside a mech can fry the brains of a mechpilot... these mechs does not have creature comfort in it. and most pictures of mech pilots are down to flight suits. (in fact) there were also an all babe squad that drove mechs in their undies or short shorts and hank tops... well, that's my opinion... hehehe. nice art kim...

ReplyDeleteYeah, I've seen Pork's House Liao sourcebook. Mechwarriors are almost half naked when piloting their Battlemechs.
Well, it's House Steiner, so they should be rich enough to afford their Mechwarriors some climate-controlled suits or what have you. Time to read some more, hehehe.
most mech warriors just wear sando and baggy pants. irregular mercs sometimes go almost naked. lol but you can survive in a mech wearing fatigue uniforms unless the life support system gets shot. if it does your cockpit will feel like the inside of a boiling kettle. lol

kim i suggest you read thru the mechwarrior rpg book i included in the cd. tingnan mo yung life path dun. might help shape mercades' carreer and life choices. you should make 3 others too btw. 4 pilots for one lance of 4 mechs. :D

Yeah, the Lyrans seem to be 'germanic' (tho' waaaay back, I always thought Davion was more 'germanic', and the Lyrans more 'english', then again, for both sides, it's a mish-mash).
You could always say that it's custom armor, and the combat helmet doubles as the neurohelmet. (^_^)
